Comment: Approximately 76% (approximately 20/ x10^9/L) of the total lymphocytes examined are of a B-cell lineage and show positivity for CD20, CD19 and CD79b kappa light chain restricted with aberrant coexpression of CD5, CD23 most consistent with involvement by chronic lymphocytic leukemia/ lymphoma (WHO classification, updated 4th edition, 2017). Negative for large cell transformation in the specimen examined. Correlation with clinical, cytogenetics/ molecular (del 17p, TP53 mut, unmutated IGHV, NOTCH1 mut, among others) and other laboratory findings is suggested to rule out unfavorable prognostic indicators.
